Microphone recording and playback test

Record up to ten seconds, play the sample back privately, and confirm what you hear. Permission is requested only when recording starts.

How this result is measured

Browser-observedUser-confirmedThe browser records the input or capability it receives; you confirm physical observations the browser cannot judge.

Microphone status

Ready

0.0s / 10s

Ready to record a short sample.

Optional

Browser communication-style microphone check

This requests voice-processing options commonly associated with browser calls. It is only a browser approximation, not a definitive video-call microphone test.

A real call in the affected native application remains the strongest confirmation. This check cannot certify FaceTime, WhatsApp, Messenger, Zoom, carrier calls, or another app.

Optional check status0.0s / 8s

Ready for an optional sample.

Requested processing summary

The processing summary appears after microphone access is granted.

Support and successful access do not prove that processing was fully applied. A browser may accept, ignore, disable, or partially apply these requests.

Optional result not recorded.

The sample and playback URL stay only in this component’s memory. Audio is never uploaded or stored in local storage, and all microphone tracks stop before playback.

The browser may select a different physical microphone or input route than a native application.

Privacy: Recorded chunks and the temporary playback URL remain only in this component’s browser memory. Nothing is uploaded or placed in local storage, and Delete recording revokes the playback URL.

Limitations: Browser processing may apply echo cancellation, noise suppression, or automatic gain. The browser cannot identify every physical microphone or guarantee which microphone was selected, and Bluetooth or another input route may be active.

This short functional test cannot measure calibrated sensitivity or frequency response, and it cannot diagnose internal microphone hardware.
