Testing limitations

Useful evidence, with clear boundaries

TestingPhone provides functional inspections through browser APIs and structured user observations. It is not an internal hardware diagnostic system.

Browsers have limited hardware access

A website cannot access every internal component, service menu, manufacturer diagnostic, calibration value, or repair record. Available browser APIs also differ by device, operating system, browser, permissions, and connection security.

Different results use different evidence

Some results are browser-observed. Others depend on what you confirm after seeing, hearing, or physically checking the phone. Manual checks remain your observation rather than an automatic measurement.

Unsupported does not mean defective

An unsupported result means the browser or current environment could not expose the required capability. It does not prove that the tested hardware is missing or faulty.

Hidden and intermittent defects may remain

A successful test reflects what was observed during that test session. Short inspections cannot guarantee that intermittent faults, environmental problems, damage under different conditions, or hidden internal defects are absent.

Permissions and operating-system behavior matter

Denied permissions, insecure connections, other applications using a device, background restrictions, accessibility settings, and operating-system policies can affect a test without indicating hardware damage.

Audio routing can differ

Bluetooth, headphones, AirPlay, casting, accessibility settings, browser behavior, and operating-system audio routing may change where or how sound plays. A listening test cannot identify a specific defective physical speaker.

Internet speed measurements are approximate

The speed utility measures browser transfers to a nearby Cloudflare edge, not laboratory latency or guaranteed ISP capacity. Wi-Fi and cellular signal, VPNs, other traffic, device and browser performance, congestion, routing distance, low-power settings, and Data Saver mode can change the result. Runs may differ, and lower-data mode may underestimate very fast connections.

Not manufacturer certification

TestingPhone is not affiliated with phone manufacturers and does not certify devices, guarantee repairs, establish warranty eligibility, or replace qualified inspection when higher assurance is required.
